Protected, Owned and Managed by The Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy
In years when the water level is below record highs, this preserve is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy an incredible beach (and, if you’re inclined, to learn about dune habitat). The roadside turnout includes an informational kiosk and short boardwalk with stairs that traverse the dune and empty out on to the beach. Due to the sensitive nature of plants and ecosystems found here, including Federal and State threatened Pitcher’s Thistle and state threatened Lake Huron Tansy, please keep dogs on leash and stay along the water’s edge (see map).
Hunting is not allowed on this property.
Dogs are welcome, but they must be leashed at all times! Click here to find out why.
