While this property was protected in partnership with GTRLC, it is owned and managed by Milton Township. Please contact Milton Township with any issues.

This park offers nearly 400 feet of waterfront on beautiful Elk Lake and provides an excellent gathering place for the community. With support from a Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund grant and other contributors, GTRLC helped to protect a lynchpin property needed to connect two previously acquired parcels and create this Milton Township park.

The park serves as a designated trailhead for the Chain of Lakes Water Trail and has a universally accessible kayak launch provided by Rotary Charities of Traverse City, a pavilion enjoyed by the community, a beautiful greenbelt (provided with a grant from the Tipp of the Mitt Watershed Council), and more.

Stop Aquatic Hitchhikers! Boats and anglers can significantly contribute to the spread of invasive species in Michigan’s waterways. Every time you launch into or leave a body of water, please do the following to prevent their spread:

  • Clean boats, trailers, waders, and equipment and remove all mud, debris, and aquatic plant material
  • Drain water from watercraft, including live wells, bilges, and ballast tanks
  • Dry watercraft and equipment thoroughly
  • Dispose of bait in the trash–please do not release bait into the water!
