Protected, owned and managed by the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy.
Maple Bay Farm is an 11-acre property on the west side of U.S. 31 owned by GTRLC. It includes a farm house (fully renovated in 2019), root cellar, sugar shack and pole barn building. The farm property is used for demonstrations, community gardening, remote office space and much more. Check our events calendar for goings-on at this special place.
The property surrounding Maple Bay Farm is largely the Maple Bay Natural Area, a 452-acre property owned by Grand Traverse County that straddles both sides of U.S. 31.
To learn more about renovations to the Maple Bay farmhouse, read the Maple Bay farmhouse chapter in our Campaign for Generations wrap publication.
While hunting is allowed on the surrounding Maple Bay Natural Area, most of the Maple Bay Farm is not open to hunting due to occupied dwellings on the property. (see hunting map).
