GTRLC appreciates ecological information gathered on its nature preserves that benefits the flora and fauna of our region, or contributes to greater understanding of protected natural features or processes.

Please be aware that if your proposed research involves a legally protected species, appropriate state and/or federal research permits must be obtained directly from the appropriate agencies prior to initiating the research. It is the obligation of the researcher to obtain these permits and any other local, state, or federal permits or approvals. Having relevant permits does not automatically guarantee that GTRLC will approve your request, but it does help with the determination of the permit.

Please submit completed requests at least six weeks in advance of the date you wish to begin research. Turn-around time varies from a few days to up to a month or more depending on the complexity of the request, necessary reviews, workloads and other factors.

If the research request is approved, researchers will be expected to share their findings with GTRLC upon completion of the research.

Researchers will be responsible for taking appropriate safety precautions, reporting any damage to preserve property, removing any and all materials associated with the research.

GTRLC is not responsible for any loss or damage that may occur to equipment used in association with any research activities conducted on GTRLC lands.

Completed applications will be reviewed by the appropriate Conservancy staff and we will contact you as our capacity allows.
