Support Our Work
To support this preserve, protected land or any other initiatives:
Visit these two island preserves by boat, kayak or canoe and enjoy nature surrounded by the waters of beautiful Long Lake. South Island is 13.8 acres and accommodates and directs boat access with a seasonal dock and has a one mile interpretive trail that encircles and bisects the island. Fox Island, 10 acres, has no infrastructure and is mostly enjoyed from the beach. To help navigate these preserves please check out and download our preserve map. Crescent Shores is the closest public boat launch to the islands and is located on Cresent Shores Drive off North Long Lake.
